Cleansing department returns Momentum's election banner after removal

Momentum has recovered its election street campaign banners after filing an official police report in response to their rapid removal. 

“They tried to take our voice, but we got it back,” Momentum Secretary General Mark Camilleri Gambin said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

The banners which were placed on Sunday night, were subsequently taken down by the Cleansing Department, raising, what Momentum claimed, concerns about fairness and democratic standards during the electoral period.

The party had said that while government messaging has dominated public spaces, smaller parties are being denied basic visibility.

This was then amplified due to their replacement with Labour Party banners in various locations.

Camilleri Gambin stressed that Momentum stood its ground, highlighting “a real change,” concluding with a status indicator of “Momentum: 1 | Establishment: 0.”
