Transport Malta suspends WT Global's operating licence

Transport Malta has suspended WT Global’s Light Passenger Transport Services (LPTS) licence.

The move comes after a court confirmed Malta’s largest cab operator’s licence revocation.

In a statement, TM said the dispute originated from inspections conducted by itself, which revealed that WT Global was not genuinely using its declared garaging facilities to park LPTS vehicles while they were off duty. 

TM maintained that the operator licence had been granted based on these declarations, which were later proven to be inaccurate during field inspections.

A MaltaToday investigation published in 2025 revealed that the company’s rapid growth was built on massive irregularities in its parking facilities, with one of the facilities being a field.

During the proceedings, WT Global argued against the suspension, maintaining that it had not made false declarations regarding its facilities. The company claimed it possessed enough parking spaces for its fleet and argued that several sites had since been regularised or had obtained necessary planning approvals.

Despite these arguments, the Administrative Review Tribunal rejected the appeal and confirmed Transport Malta’s decision to suspend the licence.

TM is now informing all booking platforms to immediately suspend WT Global from their services.

WT Global can still appeal the decision before the Court of Appeal. However, the suspension remains in full effect as of today's announcement.
