Sea taxi advert placed inside Ta' Marija Cave Ġnejna

A boat advertisement has been placed on one of the walls of Ġnejna's Ta' Marija Cave, sparking concerns over possible compromise of the sites natural beauty.

The advert which has been situated on its walls, highlights a sea taxi service which is currently being issued by Ġnejna Water Sports.

Ta' Marija Cave is known for its particular shape, attracting locals often by kayak and hikers accessing it by foot. However it is now being advertised to tourists, Over Touristed Malta said, “adding traffic to a once peaceful area.”

The social media page also urged the water sports company to remove it immediately, criticising the Cleansing Department as needing a “budget for a boat."
