Lawrence Gonzi turns 57 today
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi turns 57 today. He was born in Valletta on July 1, 1953.
Lawrence Gonzi, the son of Ines and Luigi Gonzi, contested the first general elections in 1987, and was selected as the Speaker for the House of deputies in 1988 and 1992. In the 1998 and 2003 elections, Lawrence Gonzi was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP).
After the resignation of Eddie Fenech Adami as the leader of the nationalist party (PN) in 2004, Lawrence Gonzi took the lead and became Prime Minister in March 2004. Gonzi is married to Catherine and has three children, David, Mikela and Paul.
