Former Nationalist Minister Censu Galea appointed new BICC chairman, CEO
Nationalist MP Censu Galea, who was recently appointed Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has now been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Building Industry Consultative Council (BICC).
Galea, who is also deputy Speaker, was appointed for a three-year-term that expires on 21 June 2013.
The BICC is a consultative committee which gathers together representatives from the main stakeholders of the building industry and its aim was to continue improving the building industry with the participation of the main stakeholders. Resources Minister George Pullicino thanked the previous chairman, John Ebejer, for his work as BICC chairman over his term of office.
Pullicino announced that Ebejer wuold continue give his contribution both to the BICC itself as well as in other areas at the Ministry for Resources. Pullicino claimed that with the appointment of Galea as the new BICC Chairman and CEO, with his experience as Architect, MP and Minister, he would serve as a catalyst so that the Committee would serve as an important means so that this very important sector would continue getting modernised and prepared to face current challenges.
