Errectoral Commission

Oops I did it again. Electoral Commission manages yet another blunder.

It would appear that the Electoral Commission is still suffering from the hangover of this colossal cock up.

One hapless family were left scratching their heads after receiving their voting documents last Friday. The voting document for the general election indicated that they had to vote at the government primary school in Msida, whilst the document for the local council elections indicated that they had to vote at Junior College.

When MaltaToday phoned the electoral commissioner Salv Gauci about this, he denied having anything to do with the matter.

Interestingly a few hours after the call was made, the family in question received a letter signed by the very same Salv Gauci, explaining that an error had been made.

Given that this appears to be a generic letter, we can only assume that more people have been included in this mix up.

Imagine what is going to happen with the voting documents if these are based on ID cards.

A sure way to raise doubts and for people to start asking questions about the electoral process.
