Television personality Nirvana Azzopardi has lost her battle against cancer.

The mother of two passed away peacefully at home. She was 40.

She had been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer two years ago, spreading through her lymph nodes and attacking her liver and eventually bone.

She had also filed a judicial protest against her private consultant on grounds that she had been misdiagnosed.

In 2007, shortly after her return to Malta from Australia, sister newspaper Illum had carried out an interview with Nirvana. Click here to read the interview.

What a pity...in regards to her and to many others. May she rest in peace and may all those who loved her find some consolation.

Loss. To some, a simple passing of a fond, familiar name. To others dear; despair, a questioning of faith. But stop a while; appreciate the value that this short life contributed to yours. Whichever answer comes, be thankful you were close, enriched, to enhance the future by her past.

May the Christ, who died for each and every one of us, in order to save us, welcome her, so that she can enjoy His Grace for ever.
