Full Moon occurrence on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day 2014 is going to be exceedingly distinctive as the day falls on a full moon, considered to be an infrequent coincidence. The full moon will rise precisely before 11pm on Valentine's Day in Malta. To appreciate this rare occasion, a night's stroll along the a particular beach, or a walk along the Birgu Waterfront under moon-lit skies with a loved one could add to the magic of Valentine's Day this year.

The next such occurrence is in 2033.

Air Malta Love Plane

Stuck for a unique idea to impress your better half on Valentine's Day? Air Malta is planning a pampering guaranteed to take your love to new heights.

The Air Malta Love Plane is back following last year's resounding success; offering couples a round trip over the Sicilian coastline and Mount Etna by night.

The flight includes a romantic dinner tailored to your tastes at an altitude of 14,000 feet, as well as club seating for maximum comfort - one couple per row.

Live music will serenade couples on board and guests will also be given a Love Bag that includes a gift from Classic Jewellers and some other great surprises. Interested couples can book through at the sales office at Malta International Airport or on 22999620.

Recreate your first date

There's a good chance that at the beginning of your relationship was the time when you made the most effort to show your romantic side, so why not turn back the clock and remind her how charming you were when you were first dating?

Think back to your first date - and if possible - make a reservation at the same place, eat the same food and recall about how you felt about each other when you first met. Carry out the same things that first sparked your romance.

Romantic Dinner

There are many places that you can use to provide a romantic dinner for that special Valentine partner. All it takes is a bit of thought and ingenuity. The first comment that should be made is to ensure variety. Don't go back to somewhere you have used for the same occasion before. Such an action tends to suggest that you have not given the meal much thought. On the other hand do not also just pick a place that looks "nice" from the picture, or is closest in the phone book.
A decent restaurant or wine and dine in Mdina, Valletta or in a traditional Maltese town or village would indubitably provide the spot-on atmosphere.

Long-weekend to anticipate

Valentine's Day falls on a Friday when Malta comes alive at party hot spots. One can start off with a dinner and than change to partying mode. Being a Friday, party animals might decide to party all night long. This can also be continued on a Saturday.

Gozo

One could also plan a long weekend in the sister island of Gozo. On the other hand, the special couple might decide to go to the enchanted island of Gozo for a romantic dinner.

Say, 'I DO' in Tal-Virtù

A night of red roses, a scrumptious dinner and a magnificent gift could lead to an unprecedented, planned move.  One can propose on this day dedicated to love.

A fabulous place would be Tal-Virtù in Rabat, Malta.

Tal-Virtù is a very quite area with magnificent scenery. Certainly, it would feel like being part of a movie.

Go for a massage

After a week of stress, phone calls and deadlines at work, going for a massage is a Valentine's Day treat no one will contest. It will be adorable to book a couple's massage. A relaxing massage is just the thing to get both of you in the mood for Valentine's Day.

The traditional hand-made love letter

Sending a love letter remains one of the most romantic gestures, although the traditional way and means of communicating and expressing your love are definitely diminishing, and a plethora of new ways to make the occasion truly special for fanatical couples are surfacing.

One may opt to write a personal, intimate message by recounting exceptional moments and wandering about the future of the smitten couple. On the other hand, the love-birds may opt to choose to express their love by citing a poem.

For instance 'How Do I Love Thee?' by one of the most prominent poets of the Victorian era, Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

For the ends of being and ideal grace.

I love thee to the level of every day's

Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.

I love thee freely, as men strive for right.

I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.

I love thee with the passion put to use

In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,

I shall but love thee better after death.

Being single on Valentine's Day

Some worry in being single on Valentine's Day, others do not care at all.

Being single, one can tear it up with his/her friends. Gather up your other unattached friends and have a blast. Go out for drinks, have a FIFA tournament (if you're a guy who likes football of course...) and then cap the night off with some more drinks, music.

Spend quality time with a friend of the opposite sex that you feel closest to. Who knows, maybe a night of two lonely souls might lead to more interesting casual encounters.

One can do the usual routine and carry on like just another regular day. Go to work, hit the gym, go home, and enjoy your dinner in front of some quality TV. You'll fall asleep, it'll be the 15 of February, and nothing will have changed.
