Woman remanded in custody after injuring another woman in fight

A 38-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay was arraigned and charged before a Magistrates court of having causing grievous injuries on another woman, Irina Alekseeva Vassallo, 

The woman, Ramona Vassallo, was also charged of using foul language, breaking public piece; and of possessing an irregular weapon without a police licence.

She was also accused that on last Thursday and on previous days, she behaved in such a way as to provoke her father, Cristino Vassallo and Irina Alekseevna Vassallo, and fear that violence was going to be used against them or their property.

Finally, the accused was also charged with relapsing after committing a crime during the operative period of a definite suspended sentence handed down by the Magistrates’ Court definite Magistrates’ Court judgement handed over on 8 March 2010.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges presented against her in Court. The Magistrates’ Court, president over by on duty Magistrate Antonio Mizzi, remanded the woman in custody at the Corradino Correctional Facility (CCF).
