A worker, Charló Zammit 28 from Għaxaq, was injured after falling from a height of about 1.5 metres.  He was on scaffolding in a construction site in Triq Santu Wistin behind the Eden Century Complex in Paceville.

The accident happened at 9am.

Civil Protection personnel, led by James Newell, were called in site to help lift the victim to street level. The worker was given first aid on site and a crane being used by the construction company he worked for was used to hoist him.

The worker was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance and he is believed to have suffered a broken leg.
