Sole robber gets away with unspecified amount of cash in Paola hold-up
A robber fled with an unspecified amount of cash following a hold-up in a Paola shop late yesterday afternoon. A 35-year-old Żejtun woman and a six-year-old boy who were in the shop during the hold-up did not suffer any injuries.
The hold-up took place in a shop at Ħal Saflieni Road in the same locality at around 6.45 pm.
Initial police investigations on site showed that a car had stopped in the road, from which an armed and hooded person came out.
The person then went into the shop and robbed an unspecified amount of cash.
The robber then fled with the cash with his getaway car.
On duty Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna opened a magisterial inquiry on the hold-up as prescribed by law. He appointed various court experts to assist him in the investigations about the case.
The police investigations on the case were still continuing.
