Gżira man in danger of dying in yet another construction-related accident

A 43-year-old Gżira man was on the danger list after he was involved in yet another construction-related accident in Attard shortly after noon today.

Initial police investigations on site have shown that the man was doing some construction work in a building at Mdina Road in the same locality, when at 12.15pm he suddenly fell two storeys.

The worker was immediately taken in an ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified by doctors with grievous injuries and in danger of dying.

Civil Protection Department officers as well as officials from the Occupational Health and Safety Authority were called on site to assist in the investigations about the fall.

On-duty magistrate Doreen Clarke has opened a magisterial inquiry as prescribed by law. She appointed various experts to assist her in the investigations about the fall.

Police investigations about the case were still ongoing.
