The Church's Response Team is investigating allegations against 54-year-old Fr Charles Fenech that say that he violently sexually abused a mentally vulnerable woman and held her against her will. Charges were filed in May 2013 but the priest has missed three court sittings since then.

The managing director of Leisure Clothing Ltd, the target of accusations of abuse and human trafficking, has been arrested following media reports on the conditions Chinese workers face in the Bulebel factory.

17 November is the date given by the government for the 2015 Budget day. The theme, according to a government spokesman, will be 'Creating opportunity, not dependence.'

This newspaper reports that one of Fr Charles Fenech's victims was offered a six-figure sum to keep quiet about the abuse she suffered at the priest's hands. The vitcim rejected the offer and informed the police.
