Income from MATSEC fees almost a million euros

Government revenues from MATSEC fees reached €963,086.49 in 2014, excluding those applications filed in September.

The information was tabled in parliament by Education Minister Evarist Bartolo in reply to a question by PN MP Mario de Marco.

Bartolo said income from the September applications will be confirmed in January, after also adding late applications.

A few weeks ago, the government said MATSEC’s financial situation had deteriorated in the past three years to a loss of €402,500 because it was unsustainable.

MATSEC in October announced it was raising its exam fees.
