Identity Malta launches services at Hal Far open centre

All services offered by the Department for Citizenship and Expatriate Affairs will be available at the Hal Far open centre as from today

Identity Malta announces that as from today, all services offered by the Department for Citizenship and Expatriate Affairs regarding applications for and collection of residence permits will be available at the Ħal Far open centre.

In a press release, Identity Malta said that the move was aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of services offered to Third Country Nationals granted protection by the Refugee Commissioner.

The office will be open for all qualifying persons from Monday to Friday between 08:30-14:00.

Persons submitting applications at this office will be given a receipt printed on a blue security paper, serving as an interim residence document pending the issue of the actual permit, on the same day the application is submitted.

A recent MaltaToday exposé revealed that migrants would often camp out overnight in order to access services offered by the Department, braving cold temperatures so they could be in with a chance to get their e-residence cards renewed so that they can renew their work permits.
