UHM resumes industrial actions at NSO

UHM announces that it has ordered a continuation of industrial action at NSO

The public entities sector within Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin (UĦM) has resumed with its industrial actions at the National Statistics Office (NSO), it said in a statement earlier today.

The sector had resorted to these actions due to a prolonged period that NSO took to conclude discussions about long-pending issues, according to UHM.

“Issues include parking agreements and safety and security among others,” the statement explained.

UHM has expressed its disappointment in the delay in the negotiations in question, especially because it claims to have presented its proposals back in 2014.

“In view of all this, and following all attempts to resolve these issues, it seems that the authorities concerned have left us no other option but to continue to press on in its industrial actions,” the statement reads.

The public entities sector of UHM has subsequently communicated with NSO and the Public Administration and Collective Bargaining Unit (PACBU) to say that it would continue with its industrial actions within NSO. UHM also said that industrial actions have also been ordered in the Commerce Division with respect to the parking situation.
