Five female police officers denied family-friendly measures requests
Home Affairs Minister will request details as to why two female constables and three female sergeants had their requests for family-friendly measures turned down

Two female constables and three female inspectors had their requests for family-friendly measures turned down so far this year, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela revealed.
He was responding to two parliamentary questions by shadow justice minister Jason Azzopardi.
Family-friendly measures are intended to encourage female employment, and Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has pledged to review and update some of these measures.
“The constables had their requests refused for the sake of consistency and uniformity in work shifts, while the sergeants’ requests were refused for the sake of uniformity amongst inspectors,” Abela said. “However, the government is in favour of family-friendly measures and my ministry will therefore be requesting further details about these five requests.”
