Skoda Favorit on fire in the early hours of this morning

Initial police investigatons on site showed that a red Skoda Favorit had caught fire in Francesca Balbi Street at around 2.20 am.

The fire was extingushed by some residents as well as Civil Protection Department (CPD) officials who had been dispatched on site.

Significantly, on duty Magistrate Doreen Clarke has appointed a magisterial inquiry as established by law.  This indicates that the possiblity of arson is not being excluded.

She appointed various court experts to assist her in the investigations about this case.

Police investigations about this case were continuing.
