Smart meter clients still receiving Enemalta estimates

Hundreds of consumers with smart meters receive estimate of energy consumption.

Illum newspaper today report that after the installation of smart meters, which were supposed to be readable to ARMS officials without having to gain access into households, consumers are still receiving estimates of their electricity bill.

Adding insult to injury, bills seen by Illum newspaper confirm that ARMS, the metering and billing company for Enemalta and the Water Services Corporation, has been hiking up the number of units for consumption, with clients facing higher than normal bills.

"Smart" meters have been installed not just to be "read" online...they were installed so that you'll be paying three different rates, depending on what time of day you're using energy. Get ready for it....higher cost between 3-8 pm.

The smart meters were only a way of scratching the back of friends and friends of friends. When meters were read by the meter readers and was not to computerized we used to receive correct bills on time. Computerization = Rubbish in Rubbish out.
