22,000 yearly patients at Mater Dei Children’s Emergency ward

The Children’s Emergency ward at Mater Dei has seen an average of 22,000 children being treated yearly in the last two years

An average of 22,000 children are treated each year at Mater Dei’s children’s emergency ward, Health minister Chris Fearne said.

In a seminar concerning the latest developments in pediatric care, Fearne said that the section, which has been operating for two years, has greatly improved pediatric care in Malta.

Fearne also recalled his party’s pledge to build a hospital dedicated to women and children.
