The roundabout next to the Mosta Technopark will be closed to traffic every night until the end of the week, Infrastructure Malta said.

Access to the roundabout and all approach lanes in all directions will be closed between 9pm and 5am, starting from tonight.

The agency is carrying out works to modify the roundabout alignment to improve safety and efficiency between Lija and Mosta.

The pedestrian pelican crossing, which is close by at the T-junction with Triq Pantar, will be shifted a few metres away from the roundabout, in order to reduce accidents.

The Mosta Technopark roundabout links Naxxar, Lilja and Mosta, along one of the main routes towards the northern parts of Malta.

The agency said the works will be carried out at night to prevent any disturbances to traffic flow during the day.

Road users are advised to take alterative routes, which will be designated by roadside signs displayed in the area.

Traffic management officers will be available in the area to provide assistance to road users.

The improvements made to the junction will coincide with the upgrade made last summer to the arterial road corridor between Lija and Mosta.

Other works to be completed this month are the T’Alla u Ommu Hill roundabout between Burmarrard and the Birguma area of Naxxar, the agency said.
