It was a busy night on Christmas Eve for the police, who inspected 350 cars in several roadblocks across Malta.

Joint roadblocks between the police traffic and dog sections were organised in Żabbar, Żejtun, Marsa, St Paul’s Bay, St Julians and Sliema.

In a statement the police said 350 vehicles were inspected and several motorists were fined for driving infractions.

No details were given as to the number of infractions but the police said these included driving without a valid licence, driving without insurance cover and driving without a seat belt.
