Trump threatens to destroy 'what's left' in Iran

Trump has threatened further military action against Iran if it does not agree to negotiations, while Iran has responded by promising strong retaliation against both the US and Israel

Israel’s military announced that the country faced a fresh barrage of attacks from Iran as US President Donald Trump stated that the United States had not yet begun fully dismantling Iran’s remaining infrastructure.

Emergency services in Israel responded to damage to homes and vehicles caused by a missile that was not intercepted.

The attacks from Iran coincided with Trump’s remarks on social media, where he warned that US forces could soon target additional infrastructure, including bridges and power plants.

Both sides have increasingly launched strikes at economic and industrial facilities, as concerns about disruptions to global energy supplies mount.

The Strait of Hormuz has become a focal point after Iran effectively shut it down. Gulf countries have called for protection of shipping in the area, though a planned United Nations vote on the issue was postponed.

Meanwhile in Kuwait, a drone strike on a refinery owned by the national oil company caused fires. Iran also claimed that previous attacks targeted sites in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Israel.

On Thursday oil prices rose sharply to about $110 per barrel on Thursday following Trump’s warnings of further strikes.
