Milan derby for Tevez signing
Inter have emerged as a rival to Milan in the chase to sign Carlos Tevez from Manchester City this month.
Milan looked like firm favourites to sign the Argentinean striker as according to reports they have agreed personal terms with the former Manchester United striker.
The deal could not be finalised as Milan have failed to do a deal with Manchester City. Milan want the player initially on loan, whereas City want to sell him outright.
The problems Milan are finding to reach a deal have put Inter back in the race to sign the player.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are ready to launch a Tevez bid of their own.
According to the Italian newspaper, Inter president Massimo Moratti, was in contact with City and former Inter coach Roberto Mancini, to wish each Christmas greetings.
The conversation soon turned to the subject of Tevez. Inter’s president has accelerated negotiations and the report suggests that Inter director Marco Branca has already opened negotiations with officials at the Premiership club.
Inter could make a €25m offer for the player who hasn’t appeared for City since September following a breakdown in his relationship with boss Roberto Mancini.
If he is signed, Tevez is seen as a important addition to Inter’s squad and should fit in well with a squad already flourishing with Argentinean stars.
