Sliema held by Hamrun

Sliema Wanderers played to a 1-1 draw against Hamrun Spartans.

This result would definitely disappoint the Sliema team after they failed to move closer to securing a place in the Championship Pool.

Sliema Wanderers remain in fourth place with 20 points. Birkirkara and Balzan Youths remain behind Sliema on 19 points with both having a game in hand.

Hamrun managed to take the lead on the 17th minute when Massimo Grima's direct freekick beat goalkeeper Henry Bonello.

Sliema had very few chances in front of goal but they managed to equalise on the 53rd minute. Ryan Fenech served Alex Muscat who then beat goalkeeper Omard Borg with his shot.

Both sides created a number of chances in front of goal in the second half, but both teams were unsuccessful to take home all three points.

Alex Muscat was voted BOB Player of the Match.
