Valletta back on track

Valletta managed to defeat Mosta 6-1 and returned to winning ways after three consecutive defeats.

The first have ended goalless, with Valletta having the best chances to score even being denied by the woodwork.

Valletta finally managed to score the first goal of the match on the 47th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Ferdinando Apap handled the ball inside the area. William Barbosa beat goalkeeper Jeffrey Farrugia from the penalty spot.

Just two minutes later, Michael Mifsud doubled the score for Valletta when his shot was deflected by a defender to end up at the back of the net.

On the 57th minute, Michael Mifsud scored his second goal to make the score 3-0 for Valletta. His low shot beat goalkeeper Jeffrey Farrugia.

On the 60th minute, Mosta managed to reduce Valletta's lead when they were awarded a penalty. Manolito Micallef was brought down inside the area by Luke Dimech. Danail Mitev beat goalkeeper Yenez Cini from the penalty spot to make the score 3-1.

A two goal lead was not enough for Valletta as their fourth goal arrived on the 89th minute. Denni Rocha dos Santos immediately scored when he replaced Joao Gabriel da Silva.

Denni Rocha dos Santos scored his second goal just to minutes later to make the score 5-1 after he headed the ball past the Mosta goalkeeper.

Valletta were no satisfied and in added time a beautiful shot by William Barbosa left no chance for goalkeeper Jeffrey Farrugia to make the final score 6-1.

Michael Mifsud was voted BOV Player of the Match.
