Birkirkara start new season with victory

BOV Premier League Champions Birkirkara started the new season by defeating Rabat Ajax 2-1.

Birkirkara were the better team at the start of the match and they sealed their victory just before the first half ended.

Birkirkara too the lead just 7 minutes after the match started. Off a cross by Demba Toure, Frank Temile tapped the ball in from close range to beat goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic.

Rabat managed to score the equaliser on the 30th minute. Off a freekick by Dani Pelaez, Malcolm Licari headed the ball in goal past goalkeeper Justin Haber.

Just before the end of the first half on the 44th minute, Birkirkara managed to take the lead again when Frank Temile was on target again leaving no chance for the Rabat Ajax goalkeeper.

In the second half, Birkirkara managed to protect their lead to take home all three points and start off the new season on a positive note.

Frank Temile was voted BOV Player of the Match.
