Sliema continue fine form with victory over Balzan

Sliema started the match in the best way possible after they scored the goal that would hand them victory on the ninth minute. Pape Gueye served an unmarked Stanley Ohawuchi who then went on to beating goalkeeper Daniel Miguelez Martinez from close range.

Balzan went close to scoring on the 44^th minute when Mark Spiteri's shot was denied by the woodwork.

Balzan were close to scoring again on the 67^th minute when Lydon Micallef had his powerful shot saved by goalkeeper Henry Bonello.

Balzan were reduced to ten men when on the 69^th, Fabio Vignaroli was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in the span of two minutes.

On the 85^th minute, Sliema almost doubled the score when Stanley Ohawuchi had two close-range attempts on goal, but solid goalkeeping by Daniel Miguelez Martinez kept the ball out of the net.

On the 90^th minute, Balzan's Justin Grioli had his powerful shot from outside the area go just wide.
