Hibernians are back on track after they defeated Vittoriosa Stars 5-1 yesterday afternoon at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. This victory ensures Hibernians remain at the top of the BOV standings. After a shock defeat against Tarxien Rainbows in their last match, this was a positive result for Hibernians.

Hibernians were dominant from the start andthey found the back of the net as early as the 15th minute.

A direct freekick by Clayton Failla left no chance for goalkeeper Sean Cini.

Hibernians' Rodolfo Soares came close to scoring with a header while a freekick by Vittoriosa's Oscar Guerrero went just over the crossbar before half-time.

Hibernians doubled their lead on the 53rd minute. Off a freekick by Jacson Lima, Andrew Cohen made no mistake with his brilliant header.

On the 61st minute, Hibernians were awarded a penalty when Samir Arab brought Clayton Failla down inside the area. Clayton Failla converted to make the score 3-0.

Vittoriosa reduced the gap, Jose Aguiar served Marcelo Pereira who then easily scored on the 65th minute.

Hibernians found the back of the net again on the 77th minute. Edison Luis dos Santos easily beat goalkeeper Sean Cini with his attempt on goal.

On the 85th minute, Hibernians continued their dominance as they scored their fifth goal of the match. Andrew Cohen served Edison Luis dos Santos who went on to beat Cini with his shot.

Hibernians were awarded another penalty on the 90th minute, but on his attempt Clayton Failla's shot was saved by Vittoriosa's goalkeeper Sean Cini.

In the other match of the afternoon, Naxxar put in a great performance to come back from behind and earn a point against Sliema Wanders in a match that ended 2-2.

Naxxar had a rough start to the match as Sliema went ahead as early as the fifth minute. Off a perfect cross by Pape Gueye, Alex Muscat easily beat goalkeeper Julian Azzopardi with his shot.

Sliema started to dominate the match and on the 14th minute they doubled their lead. Pape Gueye had another perfect assist when he served Trevor Cilia with the latter scoring from close range.

Naxxar's luck changed for the better just two minutes later when they reduced Sliema's lead. Gilmar da Silva Ribeiro found Andre Rocha da Silva with his pass to have the latter beat goalkeeper Henry Bonello with his low shot.

The match fell apart for Sliema on the 59th minute when Naxxar equalised. Off a freekick by Pablo Doffo, Evaldo Silva dos Santos scored from close range.

The match went from bad to worse for Sliema on the 73rd minute when Referee Paul Caruana sent Alessandro Rapino off after a foul on Gilmar da Silva Ribeiro.
