Floriana fight back to earn victory

The fight for a spot in the Championship Pool is heating up as Floriana have joined Naxxar in sixth place after their 3-1 victory of Vittoriosa Stars.

Floriana are having a positive run as this was their fourth win in their last five matches.
This cannot be said for Vittoriosa as this was their fifth straight defeat as they just sit four points ahead of Rabat at the bottom of the table.
Vittoriosa shocked Floriana to take thelead on the 11th minute. Off a cross by gilbert Martin, Marcelo Pereira beat goalkeeper Daniel Hanford with his shot.
The lead did not last long for Vittoriosa as Floriana scored the equaliser on the 16th minute. Joseph Borg served Diogo Pinheiro De Sousa who then went on to beat goalkeeper Jean Mathias Vella with his shot.
Floriana took the lead for the first time in the match just one minute before the end of the first half.
Igor Coronado served Joseph Borg and off the latter's cross, Luca Casha slotted the ball in goal past Vittoriosa's goalkeeper.
Floriana put the game out of reach for Vittoriosa on the 74th minute when they were awarded a penalty after the ball was handled inside the area. The Vittoriosa players protested but the referee still awarded the penalty. Gary Muir made no mistake from the penalty spot to make the final score 3-1.
