Chelsea and Mourinho agree terms with former doctor

Eva Carneiro was offered €1.5 million to settle claims

Chelsea’s former team doctor Eva Carneiro has reached a settlement with the club and former manager Jose Mourinho over claims she was constructively dismissed.

Chelsea said in a statement that it “regretted the circumstances” which led to Carneiro leaving the club and apologised “unreservedly to her and her family for the distress caused”.

It added that Mourinho thanked Carneiro for the “excellent and dedicated support” she provided and wished her a “successful career”.

Documents submitted to the Employment Tribunal on behalf of Chelsea and Mourinho on Monday showed that Carneiro was “made an open offer of €1.5million to settle her claims”.

Carneiro took legal action against the club claiming constructive dismissal. She also launched separate legal action against Mourinho for victimisation and discrimination.
