Two goals in the first half were enough for Ħamrun Spartans as they registered a 2-1 win over St Andrews.

The Spartans made a flying start to the match as they went ahead after just six minutes. Following a free-kick, the ball went into the path of Daniel Zerafa whose low shot went past Matthew Calleja Cremona.

Ħamrun made it 2-0 on the 17th minute. Espindola De Paula’s free-kick caused a congestion inside the penalty area, Felipe De Castro went for the ball and finished inside the net.

St Andrews improved in the second half and managed to pull one back on the 62nd minute. Degran Jackson went on a good run down the right flank before firing a powerful drive that gave Jake Galea no chance.
