Valletta went close after three minutes. Michael Mifsud sent close range shot that went off target.

On the 28th minute, Santiago Malano of Valletta tried his luck from a free-kick, but his shot went over.

Naxxar responded three minutes later. Bustos sent a cross from a free-kick that was met by Mano Micallef who headed wide.

On the 44th minute, Mifsud delivered a cross in the direction of Matteo Piciollo whose effort was saved by Nicht.

Piciollo went close again on the 51st minute. The Valletta player fired a shot that ended up slightly wide.

Four minutes later, Valletta created another opportunity on goal. Following a cross by Umeh Calistus, Ibrahim Saleh headed over.

Valletta were denied by the post on the 70th minute. Ryan Camilleri fired a powerful drive that hit the woodwork.

The post denied the citizens once more on the 90th minute. Kyrian Nwoko’s effort hit the upright.

Four minutes into the additional time, Henry Bonello had to be on the alert to deny Naxxar. Following a fast counter, the Valletta goalkeeper saved Jurgen Debono’s effort.
