FA Trophy | Lija Athletic 1 – Valletta 7

Valletta sailed into the quarter final of the FA Trophy as they registered a 7-1 win over Lija Athletic.

Valletta took the lead after ten minutes. Miguel Angel Alba’s delivery from a corner went into the direction of Jonathan Caruana who slotted the ball inside the net.

Danilo Doncic’s side doubled their advantage on the 17th minute. Enmy Manuel Pena Beltre’s cross from the right was met by Mario Fontanella who headed the ball home.

Valletta scored again a minute later. Matteo Piciollo fired a diagonal shot that gave Luke Bonnici no chance.

Lija pulled one back on the 25th minute. Abubaker Bello Osagie served Erjon Beu and the latter finished past Yenz Cini.

Valletta made the score 4-1 on the 50th minute. Bojan Kaljevic drilled a low shot that went inside the net.

The Citizens scored again ten minute later. Alba fired a thumping shot that ended up behind Bonnici.

Fontanella scored Valletta’s sixth goal on the 67th minute. The Italian concluded a solo run with a low shot that ended up inside the net.

Alba scored again on the 71st minute as he finished home from the right.
