The Paolites made a bright start to the match and opened the score after just two minutes. Tiago Adan Fonseca served Andrei Agius and the latter headed the ball past Andrea Cassar.

Hibs doubled their advantage one minute from half time. Tarxien’s defenders failed to clear their marks and the ball went into the path of Bjorn Kristensen whose shot went inside the net.

Marcolino sealed the win for Hibernians on the 72nd minute. Daniel Zerafa failed to communicate with his goalkeeper. The Brazilian took advantage and placed the ball inside the net.

Marcolino scored again for Hibernians on the 79th minute following more defensive mistakes from the Rainbows.

Tarxien were completely disoriented and conceded another goal immediately. Fonseca received the ball from Marcolino and slotted the ball home.
