Chairman's team wins series

The Chairman’s team batted first with a rather strong batting line up, one would think. As fate would have it they were bowled out for sixty six runs with some good bowling from Gary Rees who took four wickets and Mike Caruana who took three.

Justin Brooke stood up tall top scoring with sixteen runs, he battled hard, seeing to many of his team mates going back to pavilion had its effect and was finally stumped. Javed Shah hit twelve runs of thirteen was one other highlight of the innings. Mirza Jatinder provided another highlight hitting the only six of the game.  For the Captain’s team Gary Rees took four wickets and Mike Caruana took three.

He Captain’s enjoyed the chase even with the scare of losing Sam Aquilina in the first over brilliantly stumped by John Grima. That was to be the main highlight from the Chairman’s point of view.

Nowell Khosla batted well and scored eighteen runs including two fours, Ronnie Sacco did well scoring fifteen runs and Mike Caruana scored twenty one runs. For the Chairman’s team Joy Ghosroy took three wickets while Derek Ali and Andy Naudi took a wicket each. With such a brilliant win to the Captain’s team , the series was still won the Chairman’s team three to two.

In the morning the Marsa Colts completed the whitewash they were aiming for against the Krishna colts. The Marsa team made 86 runs with Andrea Caruana and Freddie May top scoring with nineteen runs each.

Sarah Bulteel scored sixteen runs and Aidan Bugeja twelve runs. Matthew Gillard was the only wicket for his team. The Krishna Colts did well and scored 74 runs. Zack Borg Ginger top scored with seventeen runs and Julia Bulteel fifteen runs. For the Marsa team Andrea Caruana, Sarah Ghoseroy, Adam Caruana and Eathan Xuereb  all took a wicket each.

This coming Tuesday the Marsa C.C take on the HMS Liverpool in a twenty over game starting at 3:30pm.

On Saturday a practise game will be played starting at 10:30am.
