Kevin Moore wins Malta its first gold medal

Malta also win medals in swimming, table tennis and judo.

Kevin Moore has won Malta's first gold medal of the Luxembourg Small Nations' Games after he won the 400m final.

The Maltese sprinter dominated as he sprinted to a time of 47.53 seconds.

In other events, Andrew Chetcuti won his second silver medal after placing second in the 50 metres freestyle final. The 20-year-old swimmer completed the race in 23.50 seconds just 0.05 seconds behind the gold medalist Alexandre Bakhtiarov. Omiros Zagkas or Cyprus placed third in 23.54 seconds.

In table tennis Viktoria Lucenkova and Peng Fei won their second silver medal in the doubles competition. The Maltese pair registered a 3-0 victory over Monaco, San Marino and Iceland. The Maltese team were defeated by Luxembourg who went on to claim the gold medal.

Malta continued to be successful in Judo as the team consisting of Jeremy Sawwell, Murman Korchilava and Isaac Bezzina won a silver medal after they were defeated by Luxembourg in the men's team final.

The Maltese team defeated Cyprus 3-0 and shocked favourites Iceland 2-1 in the semi-finals.The women's judo team managed to win the bronze medal.

Marcon Bezzina, Vanessa Fraser and Joanna Camilleri were defeated by Luxembourg in the semi-final. Malta managed to defeat Liechtenstein 2-1.
