Weightlifting: The Malta Open Championships

Special guests this year shall include the national team of Scotland, who are in full preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth games to be held in Glasgow.

The competition will be divided into different categories, with the Cadets and newcomers starting at 8.45. The second competition shall see the Men Youths U-15 and U-17 followed by the Women category.

The final two shall see the Men Juniors and Seniors. The Scotland national team will be in Malta also for a week training camp this will be a good opportunity to the local athletes to train with these athletes that are in their final preparation for the Commonwealth Games. The Malta weightlifting already gained a place for these games with Jessica Edge.

Other Maltese athletes are well prepared and focus for the Malta Open as this will be one of the last chances to bring the necessary MQS for the qualification. The MWA would like to invite all to attend this challenge, as some impressive weights are bound to be lifted
