The event will involve the best eight tennis players in the country competing against each other in the hope to measure the progress of each player taking part ahead of next year’s busy commitments in the Small Nations Games and the Davis Cup.

The event is in its’ fifth year and as explained by President Dr David Farrugia Sacco, the main aim of the event is to enable the players to reach a good level ahead of the commitments in the new year as well as creating more opportunities to compete in a good standard.

Another important figure in local Tennis, Mr. John Paul Abela expressed his gratitude towards all those contributing to the events while thanking the players for their hard work throughout the season.  Mr. Abela highlighted important events which the Maltese players will take part in, namely the Fed Cup held in April, and the GSSE to be held in Iceland the month after.

As in the case with individual sports and sport in general in Malta, the event is expected to be of significant benefit toward the promotion of the sport.

The organisers wish to thank all those contributing to the success of the event being organised.
