Banif team members raise fitness levels in preparation for President’s Fun Run

In anticipation of the annual President’s Charity Fun Run that’s set to happen on Sunday December 2nd, Banif employees have stepped up their fitness efforts in preparation for the event.

As the main supporter of the Fun Run, Banif Bank each year rallies its staff members who, apart from participating in the event, also give hands-on help with the organisation and logistics that this national event involves.

As part of this year's Banif Sports Day, staff members ran track laps on the St Aloysius grounds, to get energised and to kick-off the Fun Run preparations. "It's an event we all look forward to at Banif," said Darren Mascena from the Banif Sports and Social Committee, organisers of the Banif Sports Day. "Every year, seasoned runners egg on other staff members who do not have fitness regimes, so that as many employees and their families as possible take part in a fun event that is also an important show of solidarity."

The President's Charity Fun Run starts off from the President's Palace at San Anton and proceeds to St George's Square in Valletta via Balzan, Birkirkara, Fleur-de-Lys, Sta Venera, Hamrun and Floriana. The 7 kilometre-run brings together thousands of adults and children from across Malta and Gozo. Concurrently a walkathon leaves from Sta Venera, led by Mrs Margaret Abela, the President's wife.

Applications for the Fun Run can be collected from any Banif Bank branch or from the Malta Community Chest Fund offices in Attard and Valletta.
