Casual elections for Labour seats on 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 districts

The Labour Party has decided which eight seats will be vacated by MPs elected on two districts, setting the casual election process into motion

The Labour Party has decided which eight seats will be vacated by MPs elected on two districts, setting the casual election process into motion.

The decision was taken by secret ballot during the first meeting of the party’s National Executive with the Parliamentary Group after the general election.

Casual elections for eight seats vacated by PL MPs will be held on the following districts:

Prime Minister Robert Abela, who was elected in the 2 and 5 districts, will give up his 2 District seat.

Chris Fearne, elected in the 3 and 4 districts, will give up his 3 District seat.

Ian Borg, elected in the 6 and 7 districts, will give up his 7 District seat.

Clyde Caruana, elected in the 2 and 8 districts, will give up his 8 District seat.

Clifton Grima and Michael Falzon, both elected in the 9 and 10 districts, will each give up their 9 District seat.

Miriam Dalli, elected in the 5 and 11 districts, will give up her 11 District seat.

Jonathan Attard, elected in the 4 and 12 districts, will give up his 12 District seat.
