The makers of 300 and The Dark Knight team up for a star-studded revamp of the Superman story – and it’s looking moody, broody and spectacular.
British actor Henry Cavill (The Tudors, The Immortals) is the new Superman.
A child sent to Earth from a dying planet is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, he uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.
Director Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) and producer Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception) team up to revamp Superman armed with a seemingly moody, broody palette which doesn't appear to skimp on the action, however.
This will be yet another 'origin story' for the hero, following Bryan Singer's critically-panned take on the world's first bona fide superhero with 2006's Superman Returns.
Starring: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Micheal Shannon.
