Chart-topping singer Jessie J joins Isle of MTV lineup

British pop singer Jessie J has been announced as the headlining act in this year's edition of Isle of MTV, the annual free music festival at the Granaries, Floriana, this year taking place on June 26.

She will be joined by quirky fellow British performer Rita Ora and dance collective Rudimental, with more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.

As one of the biggest UK names to burst on to the global music scene in the last three years, 'Do It Like A Dude' star Jessie J is recognised for her unconventional musical style that mixes soul vocals with contemporary R&B, pop, electropop, and hip-hop beats.

The feisty songstress has garnered various awards and nominations for her contributions to the music industry, including the 2011 Critics' Choice BRIT Award and the BBC's Sound of 2011, and has sold over 11 million singles and 2.5 million albums worldwide, storming across the live music scene with two sell-out tours and a string of acclaimed performances, including the 2011 MTV EMA.

"I would love to see you in the crowd in Malta as I will be performing on 26 June at the Isle of MTV," she said. "Let's party and go wild!"

Isle of MTV, delivered through a successful partnership with Malta Tourism Authority, is now in its seventh year and has become one of the must-attend music events of the summer calendar, attracting fans from all over Europe.

The open-air concert will take place in the stunning Fosos Square in Floriana and a mixture of the live performance and location sets will be filmed and broadcast as a 60-minute special across MTV's channels and platforms around the world. 

As one of the coolest and most eclectic free European music events, Isle of MTV has built a reputation for showcasing some of the biggest names in international music. The annual music extravaganza has seen global acts such as Will.i.am, Flo Rida, Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, David Guetta, The Black Eyed Peas and LMFAO perform in Malta before an audience of more than 50,000 fans.
