Road closures for Calleja concert, Msida feast

Motorists are advised about the following road closures due to the Joseph Calleja concert and the Msida feast

Triq Sarria in Floriana will be closed to vehicular traffic from Thursday 17 July at 6pm until midnight of Saturday 19 July, due to the Joseph Calleja concert which will be held on the granaries in Floriana on the 18 July.

Vehicular traffic will be diverted through Triq Vincenzo Bugeja and through Triq Sant’ Anna.

Public Transport will be diverted through Triq Sant’ Anna and onto Vjal Nelson.

On the day, a special transport service will be available which will operate between 11pm and 1:30am from Valletta Terminus to all localities. Tickets will be €3 for the whole day on 18th July including the special service.

The Floriana Park & Ride will remain open until 1am.

Transport Malta has also notified that due to the feast of St Joseph in Msida on 20 July, part of Regional Road rom the Msida roundabout and skatepark, up to the Santa Venera and Psaila Street roundabout, will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday 19 July from 9:30pm to 11pm, and on Sunday 20 July 2014 from 7pm to 7:45pm, and from 9:45pm to 10:15pm.

Vehicular traffic coming from St. Andrew's will be diverted onto Birkirkara Bypass and those coming from St. Venera tunnels will be diverted onto Psaila Street. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and to follow directional signage.

Marathon on Tuesday 22 July

The Birkirkara St Joseph Sports Club affiliated with the Malta Amateur Athletic Association will be organizing a 5km run along the Mtarfa By Pass on Tuesday 22nd July.

Due to this event, the Mtarfa bypass will be closed to vehicular traffic between 6:30pm and 10pm. All vehicular traffic will be diverted through Mtarfa centre.
