Babyshambles bassist to rock Escape Club tonight

Adam Ficek will be performing a DJ and acoustic set at Escape Club, St Julian’s tonight.

Ficek will be joined by local bands Vinnie Vintage and Stephan Qui Rit, with Bob as resident DJ for the night.

Ficek first joined Babyshambles in 2005, having previously recorded material with Mains Ignition and The White Sport, as well as two solo jazz albums. He left the band in June of this year to concentrate fully on his side-projects, as well as his DJ work, which serve as “a way for me to get creative from a dancefloor perspective,” the purpose of remixes being “a way for me to toughen up some great tunes and make them ready for a bounce on the dancefloor.”

Ficek often performs under the moniker ‘Roses Kings Castles’, which he created as a vent for music he wanted to develop apart from his work with Babyshambles, Pete Doherty’s side-project, created after the infamous singer was kicked out of The Libertines as a result of his high-profile drug addiction.

Tickets at €15 are available from  Panama Jack (The Plaza, Sliema), La Rive (Sliema), Dr Juice (Paceville and Spinola), Riot (BayStreet) and Blush & Panic (Valletta). The gig is organised by Lucinda Live.
