Eman Portelli a hunter and member of Kaccaturi San Ubertu sighted and photographed a very rare bird, an Olive Backed Pipit, Anthus hodgsoni.

According to KSU, the bird is so rare – even in Europe – that there is no Maltese name for it.

In its statement, KSU cited Wikipedia: "It spends the summer in Pakistan, India, Nepal, China, Korea Japan, Central Asia and Russia. Occasionally a rare vagrant in western Europe. Breeds in Nepal and Winters across Asia, India, and the Philippines.”
