Prime Minister Robert Abela will address Parliament after the presentation of Budget 2027 on Tuesday evening

Abela’s speech will include his response to the Budget 2027 replica speech presented by Opposition Leader Alex Borg on Monday evening.

Finance Minister Clyde Caruana presented the Budget 2027 last week.

On Monday evening, Borg said the budget measures targeting workers from outside Europe were a knee-jerk reaction to public concerns over population.

"Instead of a long-term plan, Caruana came up with a quick, thoughtless reaction to a problem the government itself created," Borg said.

He said Caruana acted alone and asked whom he had consulted. Borg then turned to the ministers' benches and put questions to them one by one.

However, Borg has not said whether he agrees with the budget measures, or whether he would implement them as prime minister, when asked by MaltaToday.
