Tourist dies after paragliding accident off St Julian’s
Two tourists from the United Kingdom were involved in a paragliding accident, leaving a man dead and a woman hospitalised

A 59-year-old man visiting Malta from the United Kingdom died in a paragliding accident off St Julian’s on Saturday afternoon, police confirmed.
The man and a 60-year-old woman, also from the UK, were paragliding about a metre off St Julian’s when, at around 1pm, they were seen falling into the sea due to the wind.
Police were notified about the accident at around 1pm and immediately arrived on the scene.
After arriving, police brought the pair back to shore using a boat found in the vicinity, where they received assistance from a medical team.
Unfortunately, the man was certified dead on the spot.
The woman was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance for treatment. Her condition is not yet known.
Magistrate Renata Farrugia appointed an inquiry.
Police investigations are ongoing.
