Woman seriously injured in Għajnsielem traffic accident

A 55-year-old woman has been taken to Gozo General Hospital after being caught between a wall and a vehicle in Għajnsielem.

The woman living in Qala, was involved in a traffic accident in Triq ix-Xatt at around 4:15pm.

Preliminary investigations show that a 27-year-old man from Xewkija was driving a Citroen Berlingo when, for some reason, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.

The woman was caught between the wall and the vehicle.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she was certified as suffering serious injuries.

Magistrate Monica Vella has been informed of the case, while police investigations continue.
