Man admits to ‘sword wielding’ hold-up, jailed for six years
A man has jailed for six years after admitting to last Thursday’s hold-up on a jeweller’s shop in Qawra, brandishing a sword.
Joseph Camilleri, 43 of St. Paul's Bay was this afternoon jailed for six years by Magistrate Giovanni Grixti after he admitted to committing a daring hold-up on a jeweller's shop in Qawra last Thursday.
Camilleri was charged with violent assault, holding a person against his will, theft and illegal possession of a fire arm and of a pointed instrument.
He was further charged with breaching bail conditions.
Magistrate Grixti handed judgment immediately, sending Camilleri to six years in jail. He was escorted from Court to Corradino Prisons.
